I'd really like 4pm because two of my kids nap from 1:30-3:30.

We always have it at 2pm and it's a mess with screaming kids who won't eat and are cranky. Kids are starving at noon and have to eat something then, but aren't hungry again by 2. I typically let them eat a bit and then they go nap at like 2:45, which doesn't work well.

5ish. Feels more festive with some candlelight, and I like the more relaxed cooking schedule. I've done it mid-afternoon when we've hosted relatives who just came for the day and didn't want to be driving too late, but it's not my preference.

I would chew my arm off before then. I've had two late dinners like that with my in-laws. Everyone drinks WAY too much, and fills up on crap.

4-5pm is ideal for our family, then we have time to have seconds a few hours later.

Inlaws do it at 2pm. When my fam hosts its 5. Closer to actual dinner time.

Around 1/1:30pm this year. I want time to get outside and move around after the big meal while it's still light out. Then we can have dessert around 4pm or so, family heads home, and DH and I can chill on the couch with a glass of wine.

I hate midday. Much prefer 5ish.

Both sides of my family have always done 2PM for dinner. Then dessert is served around 5 or 6.

DHs family did there's at normal dinner time. I'll never forget the first time we went to his brother's for Thanksgiving. We got there at 1PM and the turkey wasn't in the oven yet.

The problem for me is that DH’s family always does it at 2:00 which is the worst possible timing for my child’s nap schedule.

I’m thinking 3 pm this year so we can have a round 2 for dinner around 7

We do it at our regular dinner time, around 7:30.

2p. Always 2p because we go to a movie as a family afterward.

Around 2-3pm. Everyone stays the night, even locals so we put out a light spread again around 9 pm for those who want a nibble.
