I’m looking into magnetic chess (not actual chess) for Christmas.

This is expensive for what it is but honestly looks great. Rolls up to fit in a cup holder in your car and you don't lose your place in the game.

Another vote for Apples to Apples, that’s what I came to suggest. It’s a great game for a crowd and usually leads to a lot of laughter.

You don’t need the kids version, but if they draw a card that references something they don’t know, just let them redraw.
