Subject: Repetitive knocking sound coming from ceiling…what is it??
Could be a joist with bracing that has a few loose nails. If the boards flex a bit the nails and bracing wiggles and makes kind of a squeaky popping noise.

A neighbor had a flicker tearing into their siding a few days ago. They know they need new siding.
