Disposable is fine of course. But I think I’d go with plain white instead of holiday theme.

I was at an event this summer that used disposable plates and cutlery from Costco. They were high quality.

OP here - fwiw DH is from Charleston/Mt Pleasant and his parents have a summer bbq that's catered with staff.

The Deep South summer bbqers are classier than I am with my holiday drop-in flailing.
