We haven’t turned ours on yet either and our kids are 7 and 9. We have heated blankets and the kids wear sweatshirts. They think it’s fun!

What is fun about this?

I haven't turned on heat in 20 years. Granted, I live in San Francisco, but still I know other people here who do.

I like to be comfortable. But I am slowly convincing my husband to keep it down a degree less this year. Ours kids are elementary aged and able to deal with cold rooms at night. And I love a cold room! So aiming for 68 upstairs which is 70 on our main level thermostat.

I'm sure they do, too I had a cold house as a child as it it was a big, rambling house from 1905 with a wonky furnace and my parents had multiple private school fees to pay. You got used to it but never did we ever think it was "fun."

I was vaguely hoping to hold on till December but gave in yesterday and turned on the heat. 68 is the house setting. Which means the furnace isn't on half the time. So I've done my bit to be sustainable.

What?? No way. My heat has been on since October. No way I am walking around my house uncomfortable. I'd be miserable if inside my home was in the 50s.

My home is set to 72 in the summer and 74 in the winter.
