Here's the thing though, yes the nomenclature has changed to one umbrella term, but Asperger's really does define a set of characteristics better than a placement on a spectrum. Additionally it's a pretty air tight understanding where not all ASD fits in. That's why it's still used, and it's not pejorative in intent, like other unfortunate labels of our past, regardless of what anyone thinks. The whole Level 1, 2, etc., is not helpful in education, the workplace, or anywhere. Asperger's is.
It's not about being a dinosaur.
That being said, gluten, GMO is not causal in ASD.
The phrase "a little bit Aspie" is not particularly helpful and is indeed headed in the direction of other pejorative terms.

No. I am not a dinosaur. In my career and personal world, which involves a lot of autism, Aspergers is actually used more as a term.
