I’ve been to adults only hotels in Europe and nothing explicit happened there aside from there being topless beaches nearby.

I have taken my daughters, aged 18 and 20 to an all inclusive in mexico twice (Live Aqua)
It is not a party resort, and my kids are not partiers. We had breakfast, hung by pool, read books. No one there their age, but they didn't care. Just happy to be away from college for a few days.
Some might say it was boring, and it was but we all needed a five day break from friends and school and work and dishes and all that.

Add yourself to Facebook groups for the resorts you’re considering. Get info there. Done.

I think it’s fine. We did an adult-only section at a resort a few years ago. It was awesome because
-we had access to all areas. All of the huge pool space. Those in the family section just had one or two big crowded pools.
-I would say your 18 and 20 year old would need to be aware that it’s a little more quiet. They can still go have fun in the crowded areas, but the more private areas we were in tended to be more peaceful.
-same for beaches. Part of beach was adult only and less crowded, you could always find a chair or cabana to relax in.

I’ve taken my college age son to a few of these since he turned 18. Secrets seems to be geared more toward couples and girls trips. Hyatt/AM Resorts has a brand called Breathless- it’s nothing like Hedonism but it is a more party vibe. These tend to be co-located with other resorts in the same family so it may be worth looking into. Our favorite resort is the Hyatt Zilara in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. It’s co-located with their sister resort, Hyatt Ziva, which is family friendly, but the kids aren’t allowed on the adult side.

I did an adult only Club Med with my college Daughter. It was great! She found some other college girls traveling with their moms. All lovely.

We’ve never been to an adults only resort. Is there anything you can think of that would make this inadvisable? One negative I can think of is I doubt there will any peers for them to meet at the pools, etc.

My cousins did Hilton resort in Playa Del Carmen with their college age young adult kids, they found it very family friendly.

We did this and it was nice. It was Spring break and I was actually surprised how many students were at the upscale resort

Adults only resorts aren’t all swinger resorts or something lol. They’re generally a little more upscale, better food, more restaurants. You’ll have to read the reviews but some can be a bit more boring. An 18 yo might be bored at a resort catering to 30+ couples.
