I don’t care - only if her car and room is clean

Dirty car is a red flag for me

I don’t care if a woman lives at parents’ either - it’s fine as long as the parents’ are nice and the home is clean.

Job is irrelevant if she’s interesting/intelligent

No reasonable man is going to want to take-on-your-mother as a responsibility too

House, job or car? Not much. Financial situation- major emphasis. If you drive a paid off Corolla and have no debt, great! Way better than you driving a Land Rover that you make $1800 payments on monthly.

Job- it depends on whether you enjoy your job, etc. No problem with teachers, dental hygienists, nurses, etc. The pay doesn't matter as much as your satisfaction and living within your own means.

Time to get it together op. Sorry to be honest.

Most men don't care about these things because they only really care about whether you want to have sex with him.

He'd even be willing to be saddled with your mother as long as you keep yourself fit, continue to have sex with him and stroke his ego.

Zero. How hot are you, how fit are you, are you crazy...that is what is important to wealthy men.

Are you hot?

Yes: I don't care about your job, house, or car

No: I don't care about your job, house, or car

The car isn't important to me, but the car _condition_ is. If your car is piled full of trash, that's a bit turn-off. It's not a money thing, it just shows me you are disorganized and can't keep things clean. I'm not a neat freak by any means, but no reason to let stuff like that pile up.

Yes, those same women tend to be fun in bed, but also show up 2 hours late to dates and are otherwise always frazzled. Not my scene, at least long- term.

Human beings are primarily visual creatures, OP, and men more so than women. Also, in our world, men tend to prioritize looks and women tend to prioritize earning potential. As others have said, though, you will do better if you have both looks AND earning potential.

If you're attractive (physically and in personality), you will receive more attention and more dating opportunities. Men will tend to give you the benefit of the doubt a LOT MORE than if you're not. But if you're looking to solidify this dating potential into actual marriage, then yes, a financially stable living situation is best.

So take care of yourself.

Op here. I saved a good amount and I was laid off in the middle of a home renovation. It was incredibly stressful. We also had an out of town guest show up unexpectedly and staying with us. Dad doesn't want to support mom so me and sibling stepped up.

Men don’t care about this stuff. Just don’t be dirty, take care of yourself.

1. Get a job;
2. Don't lead with "my evil narcissist father" when you admit you live with your mom;
3. Nobody cares about your car.

You don't have to have a high-flying career or nice "things", but I think it matters that one signals some sense of stability via 1. having a job and 2. having healthy boundaries with one's parents.

Clean up your financial act and establish healthy boundaries with your parents.

Without a job where else would you be living?
