Teacher here I won't be at school any extra days beyond my contract-but good luck with your petty nonsense.

True, but they can always revert to hours, or get the state to approve an exception.

Is there really a need to call off school?
The Ds already have their candidate, which means most of the voters in Ffx won't be voting. It ses like there is no need to call off school.
There is a need... because the R's that went MAGA can be dangerous. School staff and students should not be at polling sites-their safety is important. Thanks FCPS for looking out for our children.

Schools are fine. They have large parking lots and large interior spaces. Just move voting to Saturdays and Sundays when school is not in session. Many people don’t work those days, so there’s no missed work time.
You have five months to plan for this.Anonymous wrote:Ugh.

Anonymous wrote:Here’s the way back machine for you. The first time they cancelled school was 2016. Because with Trump on the ballot, there was genuine concern about violence at polling places. I had MSs then, and there was discussion of white supremacies “monitoring,” voting etc. they cancelled late, but parents had legit concerns because no one knew how having Trump on the ballot would play out. .
Trump is still on the ballot.
