I was so skeptical of Landon but we visited during the admissions process last year for US and I was genuinely blown away. Our guide was the only student tour guide at any school that I wanted my son to behave like — confident but not cocky, friendly, clearly a very talented athlete but humble. I had douchebag lax bro vibes going in and walked away thinking that wasn’t correct. I know it’s a small thing and the admission process isn’t the same as talking to actual students/families/teachers. But, I do feel like the rep is fading and I was glad we went.

Whoever wrote this doesn't know what they are talking about. I would guess Landon is certainly above average for "Diversity" for private schools in this area.

Prep and Gonzaga had scandals last year.

When SFS has a child molester employed as a teacher for decades, it waranted a postage stamp mention in The Post.

I remember the Gonzaga Students cheering "You got sodomized" at a game within the last ten years. The response from the school was Crickets.

Go to any of these schools you are interested in and judge for yourself.

There was swinging going on at Bullis a while ago, and the head was a flim flammer. The new head at Bullis seems to be a high quality guy. Schools Change.

Often when people on this forum post about Landon, they are grinding an ax.
Landon has changed a lot over time, as every school in the area has changed. Some for the better, some for the worse.

Landon has definitely changed for the better. The school is 35-40% People of Color. The asipration is for general excellence - academic, artistic, and athletic.

Both of my boys Love Landon. They are hard working, artistic, smart and athletic. The older boy will have some nice college options, and I suspect the younger boy will as well.

They have been coached and mentored by excellent faculty members, many of whom also coach.

If you are interested in Landon, come see for yourself.

My son attended Landon and loved it. He enjoyed the sports, but wasn’t a standout in any sport. He had a great group of friends, who were not overly athletic, but who had good values and were good students.He was an A/B student and worked hard. I think he would say it was a great school experience for him and if he lived here, he’d send his son to Landon. There are all kinds of kids at schools in the Washington area. It’s important to remember that they are still kids and have growing up to do.

Highly doubt that every student for 5 years has been unhappy.

Bullis kids seem to be happy and parents feel the school is responsive. We are over the rat race to which school is more prestigious. College outplacement if you take out legacy is equal at all area schools.Find a school where administrators care first about kids. All the kids. Find a school also convenient to home and/or work. There are many and the ones deemed not as popular tend to work harder to care for kids. They also attract the more mellow parents which is an added bonus.
