What a great parent you are, so open minded and not controlling at all of your ADULT college student.
For those who aren't afraid of your kids being exposed to peers from a different part of the country who might've been brought up with different values, Alabama is a fine school, probably on par with UMass-Amherst or UConn. But way more fun - check it out on a fall Saturday (Roll Tide!) if you don't believe me.

Trying to keep an open mind since she values a warm climate and it would be great to be able to bump college $$ to grad school. Wouldn’t hurt to apply but be sure to visit before making any decisions!

You sound white.
Don’t worry, white libs also collapse onto the fainting couch at the thought of going to school in Alabama because they are also “difficult” (ie psychologically fragile).
White people of both political stripes are pathetically fragile. You don’t see Asians tearing their hair out over Happy Holidays.
Are you posting from 2002?
That tells you how long you’ve been pathetic. Besides your orange god made a word salad the other day trying to complain about this.
What are you even talking about? Literally ko one gives a rats ass about Happy Holidays.

Anonymous wrote:The financial packages for high stats and National Merit kids at the University of Alabama are pretty incredible. And the warm weather would appeal to my child. Does anyone currently have a daughter or son at Alabama who could speak to 1) the academic rigor and opportunities there in science; 2) and/or what it might be like there socially for a liberal Northern female with little interest in Greek life? Thanks!
