See if he is interested in Scouts. He will have a constant stream of things to do. (Learning to build a fire, tie knots, cook, merit badges (google them), etc.)

Subject: What does your teen boy do at home?
My 14 year old boy likes board games. But, he only likes to play with the family. Maybe he just like to beat us. He says his friends will not like it. Board games like Risk, Catan, Ticket to Ride, D&D, Star wars board/figure game. With this friends, they just like to talk since the friends he likes is comfortable with do not like to do sports. They do listen to music and comment about that. They also ideas on books. Talking is the main thing.
He has initiated to want to cook a family dinner 1-2 times a month. I am very ok with that! I just hope cooking is not just put a frozen pizza in the oven.

Subject: What does your teen boy do at home?
There's not much downtime for him with football (practice 5 days a week and then a game on the weekend), doing school work and his incessant desire to socialize and hang with his friends. He also plays lacrosse in the spring so he spends a good amount of time with his ear buds in listing to music hitting the bounce back.

I'm seriously impressed with some your teens' hobbies. Granted my teen doesn't have much time between school work (IB) and multiple sports but when he does, he's usually on his phone, playing video games or sleeping.

-play board games with sibling or parents
-a little gardening
-crocheting
-making elaborate creations (game boards, costumes, etc) out of cardboard, duct tape, etc.
-puzzles
-reading
-practice instrument
-baking
Does involve screens, but not gaming:
-making stop motion movies
-taking online quizzes about academic topics
-studying a language outside of the one he’s learning at school
-play board games with sibling or parents
-a little gardening
-crocheting

Did he like Lego as a kid? There are lots of “adult” Lego kits he could build.
Those do get expensive though. So maybe he could branch out into more complex models that are glued and painted, or the wood or metal kits you assemble. Those tend to be cheaper than the Lego models.

Have you tried card games? Old fashion rumi, solitaire etc.
