Are you weighing (in grams) and tracking every single thing you put in your mouth? Eating more than you think is the issue 9 times out of 10.

It does help with weight loss in many people. It is recommended by the American diabetes association for prevention of progression to diabetes in people who are prediabetic.

In my personal experience, it lowered my weight set point by 10 pounds. I couldn’t lose weight until I started metformin, and afterward I easily dropped 10 pounds. (My BMI went from 24 to 22.) I had fatty liver as part of my metabolic syndrome prior to taking metformin, and it resolved after I lost the weight.

I was you with pretty similar numbers (though not pre-diabetic) and WW has been great for me. I’ve lost 8 lbs in 6 weeks and I believe I can lose 15-20 more. Slow and steady. For me tracking everything is key and WW is a great short hand for doing that. The point system drives you towards protein rich foods and fruits and vegetables which I like a lot. I also like the way it accounts for exercise- running makes m me hungry and in general I gain weight when I run but find it beneficial for other reasons. I am sure there are other ways to lose weight and other tracking systems but this has worked for me. Good luck

Agree with PP. Either try WW, Noom, or measure out portion size and track calories in MyFitnessPal. Buy a food scale to correctly track portion size. I’m 5’2” and eating about 1200 calories per day is the only way I lose weight. I do workout using Peloton but now split my time between strength/stretching and then cardio. Too much cardio makes me over eat.

Try Weight Watchers

Try intermitente fasting. Same height and heavy exerciser like you. Have lost 25lbs in 5 months. I eat three meals during an 8 hour window (16/8) with protein at every meal. I gave up sugar and all dairy except for a treat once a week. I felt out of sorts for about 2 weeks but once my body adjusted I have felt like a new woman. You also need to drink at least 1/2 gallon of water a day. Good luck!

Try to drink 1-2 protein shakes a day - Fairlife nutrition. And no carbs. Really helps.

I think you should reconsider Wegovy. The ingredient in it, semaglutide, has been used for about 2 decades safely.

I'm about your age and was close to your weight. I'm on Wegovy, losing about 1-2 lbs a week, eating normal, healthy foods in sensible portions (and physically active like always), the 'food noise' is gone and I have minimal/no side effects. I'm really happy with it.

Are your portions too big? I recently cut my protein portions when I realized I was eating close to like, 10oz of chicken in one sitting, and weight started sliding off.

Have you tried eating less?

Count what you eat in a day. Cut by half all the unhealthy food chips than decide if you want to eliminate it. Exercise 150 minutes a week
