This was the orange house! I live nearby and remember when it sold, I knew it would need some updating. I didn't think it would be completely redone and flipped like this though. That price seems like a lot though...there was that flip on Ellicott nearby that sat for months in a similar price range.

I would have ditched the entire grambrel roof out front and just gone with the big box look both on the back and in front (not a favorite of mine, but at least it would match).

We looked at a Dutch Colonial recently. It met every single one of our criteria... but we just couldn't do it. That style really doesn't work for us and, apparently, many other buyers.


Exactly, when they make all these design decisions for a fairly wide group of people, you'd think they'd factor in their basic architecture preferences a little more. It could be an expensive lesson for the seller or they just might find a modern Dutch Colonial fan.
I don't consider Dutch Colonials either (as my primary residences or for investment).

Don't know about the price. If you need 7 bedrooms and you want to be in this general area, it's priced lower per sf than the competition, but the competition is sitting. It's a really tough price point. This is going to sit for a while.

The floors look okay, but a bit trendy. Also not sure they are sand in place. The basement floors I hate, but I acknowledge some people like that style.

I like the roof deck.

As someone up thread said, ceilings look REALLY low. Look at how high the fridge and door casing are to the top of the ceiling. Given the house was built in the 1960s, I’d guess the ceilings are only 8 foot tall - not something I’d want for $3 million.

This will sit.
