Another +1. I’m hosting a Halloween party for kids and do not expect people to bring things or send things with their kids. It’s really nice for people to offer, and I appreciate it! Offering to bring ice is often appreciated by the host.

Either don't bring one at all or bring that, as a PP described, is consumable: chocolates, cookies, etc. NOT cutesy Halloween dishes or candlesticks or whatever. I get the thought behind it, but finding a place for stuff like that during a party is the last thing I'd want. I love fresh flowers, but unless you bring them in a vase with water, please skip those, too.

Seriously, maybe I'm not understanding what OP means by a hostess gift. What teen brings flowers to a Halloween party??
