Not around here.

The sooner they do away with these things, the better. Sadly, it won't be fast enough for my Junior.
It certainly IS an indicator of how well someone will do academically in college.
NP. Disagree.
Tell us you bomb standardized tests without telling us you bomb standardized tests.
dp.. it's difficult to assess how well a person would do in elite colleges even if they bombed the SATs because most elite colleges don't accept kids who completely bombed the SATs.
I did not do well on the SATs (I'm over 45). I went to a no name state u because I didn't have the financial means to go to a more expensive school, but I also bombed the SATs.
I ended up working for a FAANG and doing well for myself, regardless.

Ah, how convenient for you to feel this way! Much easier for you and educators, isn’t it?

Anonymous wrote:Because good test takers just take the SAT. And bad test takers just apply test optional. What is even the point of the ACT any more?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I'm thinking it's also due to more kids just taking the test. And a lot of those kids are probably not college ready, but our society has really pushed "college for all" so, many more kids who are not college ready are taking these tests.
Also why is this in the politics forum?
Hasn't the ACT always been for kids who don't/won't do well on the SAT? That hasn't changed.
