The Biden administration gave Iran billions. What did Iran next do? Sponsor a breathtakingly brutal massacre of Israelis. I can't even bring myself to read the full accounts and I know most of you won't either but I've seen enough that it makes me weep.
Turnip, flawed and warts and all that, called out Iran an enemy and was blasted globally for it, especially after the Obama administration's movements at defusing tensions with appeasement to Iran's leaders. But perhaps Turnip was right after all. Biden's money to Iran was part of that Obama policy that should have never happened.
It doesn't escape even my notice that Turnip's foreign policy was maybe not that bad. He told Germany not to build the Nord Stream pipeline because it would make them dependent on Russia, and look what happened after all.
No matter how you spin it, the world was at more peace under the Trump years. We had the Abrahamic accords breakthrough between Israel and the various Arab countries, although that is probably going to die soon. A real shame. We didn't have the Ukrainian invasion. And domestically, we didn't have a weird inaction that can only be deliberate over the Texas border and illegal migration.
Many people who normally don't like Trump are noticing all this. Including me.
1) the money Biden "gave" is still where it is, with tight controls over how it was spent
2) this attack was clearly planned for months, and probably years, likely using the Intel Trump gave to the Russians, who likely then shared it with their allies in Iran and with Hamas.
3) The world was more at "peace" with greater threats from authoritarians. Trump GAVE China the control of the South China Sea, he pulled the US out of the TPP and traded favors with China for personal family gain
4) Trump allowed North Korea and Iran to fund and grow their nuclear programs, despite what you seem to believe.
5) Trump GAVE Donbas in Ukraine to Putin allowing Russia to entrench further into Ukraine under his presidency.
6) Trump encouraged the leadership in Brazil and Venezuela to further consolidate an anti-democratic rule. In Brazil, this resulted in the destruction of millions of acres of Amazon rain forest, and the result in Venezuela are materially impacting who is getting into our southern border today.
7) Trump allowed the instrument of state to literally blackmail Qatar into bailing out his son in law of the 666 Park Avenue project to the tune of billions of dollars.
I could go on, but no, Trump did not make the world a better place, unless you are on the side of Authoritariansim, and Trump simply wanted to join the club.
