Yes they are established clients. But it was for information that could have easily been obtained in another manner. Grrr.
Kind of first world issue. I have a job. I have food. I just wanted sleep!
I'm sorry but you should have said that up front. That completely changes the dynamic and expected responses from this resource. Please don't post half-truths again.
OP here. My personal cell number is just that. Personal. Not for business use. I am not a 24 h vet. The fact that they are clients of the practice I work at changes nothing other than it explains why I am the one they called. It does not excuse the fact that they called at all. The information they were looking for was easily obtained elsewhere but they thought it was okay to text me at a very late hour, totally disrespectful of my personal time not to mention my sleep.
My post was not a half truth. It was 100% factual and I stand by the statement.
Thank you to EVERYONE ELSE who replied offering support. Being a veterinarian is not an easy job!

Do not.

Text me after hours asking me questions about your pet. Especially at night. When I am asleep.
You would not text your MD questions if she was a parent at your school. Don't do it to your vet.

Doesen't change anything for me. It's still inappropriate. You shouldn't have to do this, OP, but I would opt out of adding my contact info in the school directory.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:No one should be using the school directory to reach you in your professional capacity outside of business hours, but you’ve piqued my curiosity; were they at least established patients and not just freeloaders?
