I think Target has a decent selection of these sizes in stores. It’s a small section specifically for plus sizes and I’m sure even fewer options for work wear, but I know I’ve seen some nice dresses. It’s not the best quality but could get her started (and I like Target brands quality way better than Old Navy generally).

+1. Anthro can get a bit pricey but their stuff is fashionable and it’s probably a place her friends also shop even if smaller. A lot of their stuff comes in 0-3x, they have blazers which can be good for work, etc.

I am so, not pushing Talbots. Really. But Talbots is one of the few stores that will always have 16W -18W in stock, in styles that will be appropriate for a third interview. Many of the other more age appropriate, fashionable stores will have very little in that size range actually in stock — and that’s before dealing with body type. Macy’s will have some options, but the chances of finding something well-made and fashion forward when you need it tomorrow are slim. Torrid will have options— but is probably not the greatest choice for interview clothes.

I hope the DD is never in that kind of a pinch. If she is, though, I hope she has a list of options where she can actually try things on if she needs to.

Old Navy!! They have done a great job with representing all sizes.

In person is tough, but many major mall brands go up to that size online - Gap, J Crew, Anthropologie, etc.

Nordstrom is another good option.

I'm 44 and a big fan of Torrid for work clothes. Their Harper style shirts are really nice and work well on that size. I'm a 16W on top and they really pull an outfit together.

I'd also recommend Macy's/Nordstrom/Belk and Dillards (online depending on where you live). Belk has a store brand called crown and ivy that has cute shirts and pants in plus sizes.

The key to this size is structure and balance. No baggy pants with baggy tops. Check out some plus size influencers and stylists for ideas.

OP asked for work clothes suggestions. I think for work there is nothing wrong with a conservative cut no matter your age or size. It depends on OP's daughter's industry.

DP. No 22 year old should be shopping at Talbot's, no matter what her job is. No reason to frump yourself up like an old woman with no knowledge of current fashion just because you need a size 16.
