Dear Son, Dear Husband, Dear Daughter
Is there a reason for this type of notation? It appears to be commonly used on the lacrosse forums.

“Team is not competitive at the national level” = club team
What “state governing authority” is there for boys club lax teams? Club lax is the Wild West.

Anonymous wrote:DS has been with the same lacrosse team for two years and it is a mostly white team. It's a strong team but not competitive on a national level. The kids are teens and DS does not have any ambitions to play in college but I think a few others might. Last week DS found out that some of teammates were harassing one of the other players who is not white. They were talking about it in a chat that DS was on and DS showed them to us. It was really bad.
DS is not close friends with this player but is friendly with and likes and respects him. Someone apparently forwarded the messages to the non-white players' parents because the family messaged us and a few other families letting us know they were pulling their player off the team and due to racial harassment. They explained they had talked to the coach, who is white, and the coach did not seem to care and said something about "boys will be boys" and then said something about how "you people" make a big deal out of nothing. DH tried to talk to the coach after practice the next day and said something similar to DH about "those people."
DH have talked and we are planning to pull DS from the team. We tried to talk to the other parents but they seem to care more about their child's sports and won't leave the team. We are not in the DMV but in an area south so it should not have been surprising but it was.
What would you have done? What should we say to DS to make him understand why this is important?
