She just needs something basic and isn’t brand loyal so upon graduation she will hopefully be able to go with a make/model that is willing to budge on price. She will need a car to get to work because we are miles from a bus route so public transportation is not a viable option. Used cars are so inflated and I can’t fathom taking a 5 year loan on a car that is already 3-5 years old. I wonder what other people are doing who really need a car but don’t have a big budget.

So you either order and wait and pay at least msrp or take your chances with seeing what comes in/what they have. We still got a decent deal with end of model year and end of the month, but it’s harder to get a deal these days.

Not sure I’d be bragging about this…

Yes, if you are willing to drive 2 hrs away there are dealers that are willing to work with you more than around here. But make sure you speak with them before driving out. Some will advertise a car at X price but then when you gets there they've marked up the sticker another $3K for dealer installed add-ons or a flat out "market adjustment".... these are crazy times to buy certain modelsAnonymous wrote:What if you drove far out to a less populated area. Would those dealers be more willing to negotiate?

Sorry, I can barely swallow paying $61K, there no chance in he!! that I am paying over $74K or $13K above MSRP. That's so outrageous I refuse to even consider working with this dealer.
Wait I’m still stuck at $61k for a Highlander
