There is no need to avoid them if you pay attention to what you are agreeing to buy and how.

Why are you making it sound like the buyer’ is at fault? You are agreeing to buy tickets that you may or may it get. You may have to expend considerable time to find out if you will get them. You might find out at the venue that you will not get the tickets. All the buyer’s fault?

I have a similar experience with vivid seats for Broadway tickets this summer. Only difference was they had a 2pm EST deadline and after that I could request a refund or alternate tickets.

Then I had issues with StubHub for broadway shows because the ticket venue had a QR code that wouldn’t transfer so the seller sent to my email a pdf scan of the code. I had to risk it not working, but I said F it, went to the show and it worked.

I would never purchase tickets from a third party seller to begin with. It’s like using Expedia to book a flight. Always book directly with the airline!

I’ve used StubHub for years and never had a problem.

DS and his friend had a similar experience with stubhub. They used their allowance to buy tix to a NFL game but never got the tickets. They were somehow able to sneak in the game (not FedEx field, but another stadium in a major city). Needless to say, I was quite upset to hear the story but in their 16 year old minds, they were totally justified since they paid for the tickets.

Their customer service can’t speak English. Third World call center and just repeat the same “all sales final” over and over and over if you are lucky enough to get through.

"Third world" doesn't have anything to do with this. Nor does speaking English.

Cool it with the scolding. Everyone knows what third world means in this scenario. Pertains to the level of customer service one may expect.

People like you are very trying to be around.

It’s worse for sellers. If that person couldn’t or didn’t transfer the tickets, their credit card is charged for the full amount you paid. It’s automatic. Meaning: stub hub have you no tickets and the seller gave the same amount to stub hub that you would have paid. And they still gave you nothing.

That sucks. I just bought tickets on stub hub two days ago and the tix came in within 24 hrs. When I’ve bought tix in the past sometimes there’d be a delay bc the electronic tix had not been sent to original purchasers this is across multiple sites. I have attended about 14 concerts since Covid ended so I’ve been fine for all of them. I think you met a really unlucky seller and that’s how you got screwed op.

I wonder if this happens because sellers list on multiple sites and then don’t pull the listings when the tickets get sold.

We had this experience a couple of weeks ago. We’d bought the tickets in April or May. The day before the September concert get the message the seats can’t be transferred. Luckily they offered alternative seats, which weren’t quite as good (we’d picked aisle seats) but at least we got tickets. It does give me pause about using stubhub again.
