OP here and you just might be right. I think the shift occurred around the time he made a BIG change that everyone vehemently disagreed with. He was also warned he’d probably lose people to this change, and he called our bluff and lost. He’s been an absolute nightmare since then, but also passive aggressive? Saying things like, “Let them leave! I don’t care.” But obviously you do care? Because now you’re making it harder for people to leave?

Did he make everyone return to the office more than 2 days a week?

OP here. It’s not that. We’ve always been in person. I don’t want or need to get into the details, they are too easily identified, but we were successfully carrying our department single handedly for nearly a year, and now we are met with sweeping changes that make our jobs exponentially harder. It’s funny how almost everyone will be gone soon. We are all giving up a lot (many of us, losing benefits and pay) to get out of that place. No, actually, we are quitting the boss, not the job.

I know DCUM loves to create their own salacious narratives, but I assure you this is a case of hard workers and a clueless boss taking us for granted. I wish him and this thread the best.
