NP and I was reading this thread and surprised it was so hard to find because Park Pediatrics offers my kid the Covid vaccine every time we go for check ups or the walk in clinic.

Park Pediatrics in Takoma Park and Gaithursburg is expecting to get Pfizer for the under fives next week. They run a travel clinic at the Takoma Park location so I'm guessing they'd take anyone, but definitely call to check.

Can you name a pharmacy in nova that will vaccinate under 5?
I’m not the prior PP but I’ve heard of people having success by calling CVS and Walgreens yesterday. Seems some locations have *finally* gotten their pediatric shipments but the websites may not yet be updated. May be worth a shot if you are still looking.

MD offices and Pharmacies (in NoVa at least) are NOT swamped, spread too thin, or hard to get to — even for routine (non-urgent) matters.
The grocery pharmacies near us have lots of availability for vaccines for 3-to-adult ages. The Pediatrician is getting a steady, but not huge, delivery of vaccines, so has a short waiting list (schedule the shot about 1 week out).

I have not confirmed this with the pharmacy, but the website for Grubbs pharmacy suggests they will do under 3 with a prescription.

It's just not that important or urgent to get it. This isn't spring 2021. It doesn't need to be a huge public health priority to get under-5s this shot that isn't doing much anyway.
Doctors offices and pharmacies are already spread too thin and so hard to get through to, even for appts and mediations that are urgent.

This is the first time they are doing this as an annual vaccine (not a booster). It is understandable that the roll out has not been perfect. Hopefully next year they will approve it sooner. I can't imagine many families will go back this year if they couldn't get it when they get their flu shot.

Depends on state law but some pharmacies will do 3+. I don’t disagree that this rollout is absolutely garbage but wanted to mention that at least 3 and 4 year olds may have easier access.
Of course not a lot of pharmacies have it, but Caplet in MD does as does Walmart in DC.
I've found zero pharmacies who will do it, other than the two you mention. There have been no suggestions on this thread.
