This was a thing before the pandemic, too. My kid was younger then, but I remember seeing girls in the mall with PJ pants and Uggs. Now it’s PJs and crocs for boys and girls at my kid’s high school.

Try the mid 90's. I think it started with Skidz, because those were soft flannel pants that were in style, and a lot of kids started wearing them as pj pants, and then the line was crossed forever.

You can parent. You can say no.

Yup, pj pants to school with those Ugg coquette slippers is a thing. As most people have said, this is not a parenting hill to die on. I also greatly prefer this to the crop tops and booty shorts, or my kid’s preferred warm weather uniform of a t-shirt from Hollister/AE/Altar’d State with Athleta shorts that are covered by the shirt so it looks like she’s not wearing pants.

Going back a good 20 years, I had a student in college that would show up in her pink heart PJ pants, especially to tests. She was also my best student. There is no correlation between the pants one wears, and how interested one is in their education, so unclench, PP.

DD has asked for plaid PJ pants, for wearing to school. She has PJs for home wear, and wants ones for school. At least in her case, she's not planning to sleep in her clothes, and then go to school in them.

GMAFB. You don’t have teens, do you?

When I drop my DD off at high school, half the kids are in PJs and sweatshirts or crop tops. It’s definitely a thing. I can’t imagine policing that.

And to say “parent your kids” over that is just…the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I’m sorry but no way do you have a high schooler.

She’s going to come back and say her HS angel is impeccably dressed every day.

One of my now college kids wore sweatpants or pajama pants most days. Wearing pj pants is not a parenting issue I care about. Way more important things out there.

I can’t wrap my head around caring if my kids wear joggers or comfy pants to school. I imagine life is infinitely more stressful for people like that - or maybe it’s the opposite…no real hardship?

So not a battle I would pick. I mean why? Let them be individuals. It is their style and I can’t see the harm in it.

It's trashy. I saw people leaving the grocery store in FULL PJ sets. SMH.

My son wears them to school and errands etc. Not my preference but I allow it….much bigger battles to fight. In my view, it’s good to let kids make decisions. Save your controlling for what really matters!!!

My DD wears them and I don’t like it but I’ve got bigger fights to fight so I let this go. It will pass……
