Also +1 to whoever said they’re never dated. Never in my adult life have tall boots been “out” even if they weren’t as popular in a given year.
They have definitely been out the last 5 or so years. Tall boots were adopted by the masses and became a fashion trend. Remember skinny jeans and tall boots and vests? Because of this, they became “out.” They are the equivalent of grey interiors in a house. When the middle classes adopt a trend they go all in and then if you’re stylish you drop the style.
