Those cases with the multi-layer cakes that looked so good. And all tasted like sawdust the worst possible cakes. But they had pretty much everything under the sun on the menu. Meatloaf, lo-cal diet plate (tomato with cottage cheese), crepes, eggs, pancakes, club sandwich, patty melt, etc. All was just ok, never amazing, the cakes were terrible.

They can be fun places to sit and talk.

Yes!!

I used to love diner food, especially for breakfast out - but after changing my regular eating habits a lot the last year, I can’t stomach all the saturated fat in most diner dishes. I wish there was a place near me that could make a really good veggie and herb omelette but I live in a fine dining desert - so going out to breakfast is no longer a thing for me after being my favorite thing for decades.

You need to go to a diner in New Jersey.

I miss the Tastee Diner in Silver Spring.

There used to be a diner near my work that was cozy feeling and the food actually tasted really good. I would go there every Friday morning with my co workers. Nothing else can compare and I’ve been disappointed by every other diner I’ve been to.
