EXACTLY! If you want to be able to control everything and everyone, you do not want the masses to be educated. An educated populace is a foundation of a democracy - you need educated voters. But it's pretty clear the conservative party is not interested in democracy; only power.

Virginia does have several top quality state colleges and universities.
