I’m old and use outlook with my .org address. It’s a chore to set up in the beginning of the year but I refuse to use synergy email.

Uh, no. Do not do this. It's rude and inappropriate.
You can:
a.) ask that in the future ONLY YOU are bcc:ed so that you do not receive replies and your email address is not shared
or
b.) ask if she has ever used bcc: and would she consider it? but even that seems beyond the pale

You may not start or reply to emails via Synergy, but there’s nothing to stop staff, students, and parents from emailing you through it. Their emails will forward to your Outlook by default I think.
Yes, synergy forwards them to outlook ( although i think you have to set it to) but I still can’t reply to the original email via Outlook. I tell parents explicitly that i do not check or respond to emails sent to synergy. I give them my . org address, it is on them to follow the direction.

As a teacher myself, this attitude is unprofessional and disappointing.
While I prefer parents contact me through the .org address (which I say at BTSN), I’m still professionally obligated to respond if I receive communication through Synergy or Canvas.
