No reason to shame, OP admitted she didn't read the price list.

Where is this price list that you speak of?

In the first sentence of OP's initial post.

This made me laugh, thank you.

Sorry this happened to you OP; shame on them for poor communication of pricing policies.

Shame on you for always shaming in your posts. Try something new.

Parkway is one of the finest dry cleaners in DC and OP had delivery. It’s not for the masses.

I don't think they are shaming at all. I'm grateful for the heads up!

OP, I don't think you're crazy. I recently had my 12 y.o. son walk a few things to the dry cleaner near us, Capitol Hill. He brought back the receipt (they require prepay) and it was $98: one pair men's dress pants, one formal (long, but not ornate) dress, and one silk skirt. I called them and said, please do not clean the dress and skirt and walked and picked them up. I have no idea when prices went like this. The dress is lovely but from Nordstrom Rack and I did pay less than $75 for it! I'm going to look for a better price and or wait till I need it again. I wore it to two formal weddings and don't have an expectation of needing it again!

If it is not an error (as in maybe it should have been $7.50 per dress…which I still feel is in the high side!) then I guess it is I who is out of touch because whoa!!!

You're nuts. $7.50 to clean a dress would be a steal. $75 is ridiculous, but it's on OP not to have ascertained the price before partaking of the service.

NP. I rarely get anything dry-cleaned but in fact just picked up a (basic sheath) dress from the dry cleaner today. Less than $20.

I am getting a basic dress hemmed at my local cleaners, and it’s costing $45. I paid $25 for hemming 18 months ago. Hate being short!

Yikes- pricing at this level should be prominently displayed/disclosed.

So many items that are marked "dry clean only", are actually totally okay to go into your washing machine

Oh yeah, Parkway is not for regular stuff. It’s just for very fancy or precious things.

I’m not surprised. My DH paid $66 to them to clean a suit recently.

Yes but that’s a suit!
Those get cleaned like once every 3-4 months!
