If the weather is decent, go to the World Trade Center and try the playgrounds on the Hudson River by the World Trade Center. Really great playgrounds. Tear Drop Park is hidden behind a building and a little hard to find but has a great slide carved into a hill.

Also, instead of waiting in a horrible line to go to the Empire State Building, eat at a high up restaurant, like this one: https://www.peaknyc.com/

My 6yo absolutely loved the Lion King so I'd recommend that. But I agree with the pps who said show her clips and see what interests her.

After the first 20-30 minutes and you take in the set and costumes, lion king is boring.

tough one! I saw the rockettes at christmas as a little kid and I still remember it. I didn't necessarily LOVE it, but it was pretty cool. Maybe ask your child (show them small clips of each so they get an idea....)

It's a Christmas show. It's right there in the name. Christmas is a religious holiday.

Trust me, I get it. But for tens of millions of Americans, “Christmas” is about Santa, Xmas trees, watching Elf, presents, the Rockettes, etc. They actually know very little about the birth of Jesus.

Visit Dyker Heights in Brooklyn for the amazing festive lights. It’s pretty stunning.
I would choose Rockettes over Lion King but having seen it once, would never do it again. I found it a little cheesy.
But consider seeing the Nutcracker in addition or instead, as another PP suggested.

The other things to check out in NYC at Christmas are the holiday markets, lights, and dept store displays.

Wolman Rink in Central Park is a better experience, IMHO. Great views!
