To all the posters who replied with their personal experience regarding your awareness of your kids’ grades, thank you for taking your time to reply.
In our ES, grades are supposed to be posted in Schoology and have been posted there with high frequency in previous school years. So far, this school year, I have not seen a single grade. I am simply wondering whether there is a change in dynamic of grading (how often grades are posted) once kids reach upper elementary. Based on your responses, it looks like this is is not grade-specific, but rather depends on the individual teacher. Again, thank you for you replies.
For those of you who decided to post offensive comments that are unrelated to my original question: The lack of comprehension and rudeness will never cease to amaze me here. So, I suppose, carry on. It is anonymous forum after all. I wonder whether you use that language and attitude in real life too.

They've been in school a month. I'd expect to see something by now. What's the guidance from Gatehouse? Don't grade anything until middle school? Or just wait for the SOL in May to see if they've learned anything over the year?
In ES, there is very little guidance - just a minimum number of grades per strand.
Not in ES.
ES Teacher
Yes, in ES.

Fine leave out the part about third grade. Point is email the teacher if you want to no the grades.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:How about sending the teacher an email to ask how your child is doing. Be nice and state that by this time last year you had seen some graded work(if you actually saw graded work in the first part of 3rd grade).
This passive aggressive BS is not a good idea. What happened last year is irrelevant to the current teacher and the teacher will see the e-mail exactly for what it is: an unreasonable e-mail from someone who doesn't have a life.

+1, This is feeling like a troll post.

Anonymous wrote:OP here. In 3rd grade we had grades posted in Schoology and, typically, many by this time of the school year. I was wondering whether something changes in the fourth grade and then there are fewer grades posted.
