Ahhh, I miss the days when Botox made my forehead shiny, because NOW I metabolize it too fast and my 60 units barely last a month and a half!

But, anyway, yeah Botox can cause this all by itself. I never exfoliated or used other skincare products.

I only got the shiny forehead thing when my Botox was new. Lasted about 2-3 weeks. Not an intentional look; just a temporary side effect of receiving the dose that would last me 3 months.

I was just watching the supermodels documentary on Apple TV, and thought to myself these women were gorgeous with zero Botox and filler. The models today with their inflated lips, and creepy crawler lashes can’t hold a candle to these ladies.

Omg - a kid working the Starbucks counter just told me that my skin “is absolutely glowing”. Maybe I’m one of the dreaded shiny faces?! All I use is tretinoin, vitamin C, lip
Balm, and a generic Trader Joe’s moisturizing spf. I don’t even wear makeup. Maybe I need powder…or to finally get through peri so my hot flashes stop?!

My 54 yo brother has a taut shiny forehead and I'm sure it's due to Botox. Maybe he's also exfoliating but that doesn't explain it because it's only his forehead. It's weird.
I haven't done botox, trying to stay healthy and sleep well instead. I do color my hair every now and then.

I also find the soap brow thing and microblading confusing (not that overplucked ones are better).

Don’t care about any of it, though, just don’t partake myself.

Just the latest in youth obsessed trends. Younger people have shiny skin and bushy brows.

DP - I’ve been noticing it a lot lately and was reading about “glass skin” over the weekend. It isn’t new, but requires a lot of product!

Genetically she likely has oilier skin to begin with too.

I like the shiny faces! It is striking though when you see someone with a super dry, wrinkly face like a smoker's. You rarely see that anymore.

Shiny used to just mean oily skin.

Older than 35 shiny face, probably anti aging products or botox

Under 35 shiny face, wanting that dewy look that is popular on social media

It is 100% from retin-a use.

It’s called dewy. And they actually have highlighting balms that make you look dewy and shiny.

I think the shiny look is a combination of botox/stretched skin and too many topicals (tretinoin, vitamin C, AH/BH acids).
