We ask for a month's notice for vacation days and that one five-day block line up with one of our five-day blocks of vacation. We ask for as much notice as possible for sick days (like dr appts) but understand that isn't always possible.
Do you have to take your vacation days lined up when your boss takes their vacation? Your nanny earns these days and should be able to take them when she chooses.

I find it unfair if a Nanny does not get two weeks of HER choosing, she shouldn’t have to have only one week per year of her boss’s choosing!
Most jobs that offer paid vacations leave the dates up to their employees.
It is not really a benefit if someone has to use a vacation week when their employer dictates…..
