How pathetic to go through life without working to support yourself and your family. He’s lived off of his ex and her child support.
And how sad that her children never were able to establish a solid relationship with her.
If those kids don’t have any relationship with her, then she should cut them off once her CS obligations end. Why through money and gifts their way if they make no effort to have a relationship with her as young adults?
And yet when people post about estates and not giving money equally among children or cutting children out, almost everyone says how horrible that is...
It’s usually horrible.
But this is a very unusual situation.
How many families devolve to the point where Deadbeat Dad gets the kids, never works, and essentially alienates affection/turns kids against the mom?
She’s paying a boatload in child support and the kids probably have trusts. But if they literally never call her or take her calls, then why should she continue to throw money their way once they become adults who don’t interact with her?
Having said that, I doubt they will be stupid enough to cut off the gravy train. They might start sucking up to her once they launch…if they launch. It’s not a leap to assume they might not be equipped for adulting given their father is a layabout loser.
First off the kids didn’t choose this mess. She brought them into this disaster and if they are weird because they were raised by KFed, that’s on her too. Second, can you imagine how bad she had to be for KFed to get custody? You have one party who is rich and successful and one party is KFed and the judge said - KFed is the sane choice. Finally can you imagine how traumatizing and frightening it must have been to be her child and exposed to her erratic behavior? Frankly the least she can do is pony up.
Do you think she still needs to pony up for adult children though or is it time to pull them off the titt?

Can’t blame him that Britney doesn’t have relationship with kids. Who could have a relationship with her? Look at her, she is certifiably nuts.

Those kids have definitely been alienated. It may take her totally cutting them off as young adults for them to understand that she was the provider

Kevin is the furthest thing from a deadbeat dad.
And moving to Hawaii doesn't change a California support order

Might that be the real reason? I am thinking he has become concerned that the gravy train is about to end. I am sure she already agreed to pay for college so wondering how that would be handled.Feel for Britney seems she cannot get a break.
He already had 70% custody since 2019. I don’t think losing the extra 30% really warrants a sizable CS adjustment. Her income also seems like it is probably lower than the last time he sought an adjustment because no more residency and seemingly no new streams of income. I don’t think he can change CS jurisdiction but maybe he can argue that Hawaii is more expensive thus he needs more CA.

I'm a fan of Britney and think Kevin is a deadbeat loser, but the kids have good reason not to want to be around her (untreated mental illness). If she wants to be a good mother, she will always be open to them and a relationship and not cut them off as if the relationship were transactional. Unfortunately, I think she's in suspended adolescence and relates to them as if they are peers instead of her being the one who has to offer unconditional love. And, she, herself, did not experience healthy parenting. So they got what they got, which was Kevin. Not a good situation all around.
She’s not in suspended adolescence. She is severely mentally ill and appears to have a low iq.
