My son goes to a school near BC and says the campus is beautiful, the school spirt is unmatched to other schools near Boston.

BC is in the burbs not in Boston.

Kids love the school.

There was an issue with welcoming LGBT students in the past 10 years, can't comment on whether it has been resolved.

My friends that went to BC still go back for games. Girls sports are also attended at a high rate.

It's a top school on par with Georgetown and ND.

This could be my kid. They want to go away for school and also love Boston and it’s young energy. Notre Dame
looks great but doesn’t seem a lot going on beyond campus including other colleges to visit etc.

Same with my son. Accepted to several schools ranked higher but he loved so many things about BC and now that he is there I can see why! Such a special community. Very very cohesive.

Amazing school spirit tailgates for football games. Almost students attend and stands are full. Same for hockey, basketball games.

My child straight A’s at top private and 1550 SAT and it was their first choice because of so many factors - Boston, community, campus, Jesuit, nice and friendly campus, and an excellent finance program.

My cousin applied and got in ED1 last year. He’s athletic, upper middle class, from New England. Good student, but not top tier. Not a recruit of any kind, he’s full pay. He walked onto a team and will be living off campus next fall. I helped with editing his essay and it was very much focused on faith to overcome a childhood injury, A recommendation from his parish priest certainly didn’t hurt either.

We do both. Depends on the night and our mood, but yes. Plus the mods are very popular for parties on campus.

I would suggest searching Boston College on DCUM because there have been numerous threads about various topics that you might find helpful. My DD applied ED1 and got in last year. She really loves the campus and the fact that it's close enough for her to go into the city with her friends if that's what she wants. She can also visit friends at other colleges. The school is Jesuit and service and volunteering are a big deal in the application IMO and once you are there. She has plenty to do socially and they offer great clubs, classes at the gym, plenty of D1 sports and there always seems to be something going on. It's also a good size for her. The classes have been rigorous with a heavy work load, but so far she has enjoyed them. While it is Jesuit, it does not have an overly religious feel and everyone is welcoming regardless of what you believe in. My DD is not Catholic and feels perfectly at home. They make a point of saying it's not a church, it's a college. And while it may be TO, most students submit test scores. It's not an easy admit. Best of luck.
