Movie night-twice
BBQ party
Xmas party - twice at my level
Week of training in Vegas
Baseball game
Football game
Birthday lunch with your dept company paid
Two all hand meetings in person at a country club
I also go an off site board meeting at resort
The staff all want things back to normal.
I see this commonly with teams that employ many people between 22 - 27. Sales development reps, junior associates, etc.
The 30+ crowd is not into it.
The 50-65 crowd is into it. The staff with staff with stay at home spouse into it.
I say only staff where spouse works full time with young kids are not into it as much if during a weekday. But on weekends they all come
I am 50+ and I am definitely not into this and for sure would not want to do anything work related on the weekend.
I think there are people whose social lives revolve around work, and people whose social lives are external to work. If your social life depends on work, then yes, I can see why you look forward to these things and are sad when they don't happen. But for those of us who have activities and friendships independent of work, all of these work social things essentially conflict with the things we enjoy doing.
+1 and Vegas has really gone down hill. Even though I never liked it. What about New Orleans or another city with some history?

Sorry Scrooge. Don’t go. I will be at our party next Saturday with family with free food, drinks, games, food trucks, cakes, movie and entertainment and prizes. Kids love it. There are 2-3 times the amount of kids and spouses at any company than employees. They enjoy it. It is not really for employees. What’s next canceling our Xmas party with spouse in a fancy hotel where we pay for hotel room and brunch? Don’t go. But pretty sure my wife would kill me

I think this all sounds wonderful!!! I suppose if I had a spouse and kids in the house, I could understand while this would sound exhausting, but as a single older woman who lives alone, I would be looking forward to all of these events. I'm so glad I don't WFH!
My company most of those events family invited. Except the training and Xmas party spouse only.
I took my wife and kids to the board off site they had a blast. Movie night, rides, games, food trucks, prizes kids love it.
Baseball game whole family at nats.
Some people at work don’t do anything unless during work hours and being paid. But a lot love these things.
We also going to do a golf outing. People are depressed. Some people lonely, some people have no friends, some people get very little invites. Sorry we are trying to improve morale. I am not from DC originally and know very little people so my family enjoys it.

You are not kidding. We see that every time we have a work event gathering. No more contact tracing or informing others being done by the company, but it is a huge hit to productivity. Although a lot of people think they are expected to just work through sickness when they WFH.
