I sympathize.. I have a good friend who I know has been a daily pot user for decades. She doesn't have memory loss, but she started behaving a little strangely -- very paranoid, cuts people out of her life easily, very reactive. I don't know if it's related. But we have drifted apart.

I don't know if there is any good way to bring this up; your friend is probably not going to change her behavior or usage.


That is sad. I have heard that weed can cause people to be paranoid. I don't want to try to change her, tell her to stop using or whatever thats not my place, but I just want her to be aware in case this is something she doesn't realize is happening to her and if she would be concerned on her own to make changes if it is the case.

My sister used hard drugs since she was very young and recently cleaned up and I’ve never tried any but my memory is so much worse than hers, also mid-30s. It drives my husband crazy. I also learned I have adhd which makes it worse when listening to people and explains some of my struggles. It’s not the drugs that are impacting your friend’s memory unless used more frequently- it’s likely something else.

That might be true in other cases but—Weed is the one drug that people are extremely vocal about using, all the time, 5 days a week, and how it’s totally not addictive. Alcoholics have more shame.

I think this is the case here. They are doing more damage to her than good but she doesn't even notice it I guess which is all the more reason it's so disturbing to me.

Has she ever been tested for adhd? My friend with ADHD is like this.
