Why do Dems love and trust big govts like North Korea, China, Iran, and Russia?

Because all politics is local. Communities of people tend to have common concerns, but the further out that ring of "community" extends, the less people have in common. Our government was formed to be federalist, so that people can have most of their governance by a local body that represents them and their interests.

Because they can read and the 10th amendment. Constitution clearly states what the federal government can and can’t do. Next in line are state governments which have constitution enumerating state government power. It then goes to the people. Pretty simple really. Something that used to be taught in school, but most likely hasn’t been taught for a while given the widespread confusion.


The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

I would make the case that Republican state legislatures stuffing wildly unpopular bills down the throats of their constituents are more out of touch than your average fed bureaucrat, but hey, that's just my opinion.

They only do that to majority minority cites or woke liberal enclaves. They let the corrupt conservative counties operate as oppressive police states.

Because they can gerrymandering to their hearts content and get their people in power and they will defend challenges in court.

The U.S. constitution gives a broad swath of powers to the states via the tenth amendment. It gives nothing to local communities. A state constitution could do that or it could be done through state law. 33 states allow counties/communities to declare themselves dry, for example.

State governments are easier to corrupt and local governments are even easier to corrupt. States rights doesn’t mean they want a strong state government. States rights states traditionally have weak state governments that permit clan rule at the local level. The main function of their state governments is to distribute patronage to the local authoritarians.
