Agree, BTSN on Wednesday was just like any other. OP -- if you have specific questions, reach out directly to teachers. All of them have encouraged communication from parents via email.

That’s exactly what back to school night is everywhere.
Would you really have wanted to be there twice as long? Was there specific information you didn’t get?
It’s truly just a chance to get inside the building and physically see the teacher and space. That’s it.

Anyone can probably just walk in, doubt they're actually taking parent attendance.

One teacher showed us why the drawing he does on the board is not going to be intuitive. Why it is important to use an alternative, how to use it, where to get it, etc.

There is so much useful information that had a full two pages of notes.

I am truly impressed by the back to school night at TJ. Exceeded my expectations.

I am thankful for the teachers who are educating my child.

- One teacher told us how to ask for more time if needed for assignments and tests.
- Another teacher gave a few simple ways to stay organized for her class.
- Another teacher on how to get the most out of their class. Why it is not worth trying to get the last 2% of the score on an assignment.
- One teacher mentioned how she is happy that FCPS got rid of students getting 50% on an assignment that is not turned in. She gave specific examples of how that impacted children. What she wanted us to do to help the children.

For a couple of classes, I almost wanted to ask if I can take them myself. I felt the same way last year as well.

TJ BTSN is a reminder that the kids have a lot to handle at school. some of the teachers are checked out and we really need to give the kids some slack and be supportive as much as we can.

yesterday was no different

Inviting a question and answer session in today's environment is not a strong choice.

Just another way that parents lose out because of the actions of a very small number of very loud agitators.
