This thing seems really sporadic. I have not seen it yet and even those who get it only see it once in a while .That makes it very difficult to track down.

I'm using Chrome on a mac and it's been happening to me for a few days now. I've gotten both the Chrome browser extension pop up and the your computer is infected pop up. Only while on this site. (I'm on the legacy version if that matters.)

NP here. This is happening to me as well. I'm on a Mac and I'm using Chrome. I tried clearing cache/cookies, updated Chrome, and restarted my computer, and it's still happening. I'm getting the "your computer is infected" and "you're running an outdated version of Chrome" redirects.

This just happened to me this morning for the first time ever. I'm on a Mac using Chrome. The pop-up wants me to run McAffee antivirus software. This is the address in the pop-up:

I’ve gotten this a few time over the past week and never reported it. Also using Chrome on a Mac when it happened.

I should note that my pop actually said "Mac OS has identified a threat to your computer." I could tell it was obviously not a message on my OS. It also said "Do not close this page until you have resolved the threat." I of course closed the page

Hope this is helpful.

You resolved the threat!

NP. This happened to me two days ago when I was browsing DCUM. I am also on a Mac, and have never seen a pop up like that in the 20+ yrs I've been reading DCUM. I ran updates yesterday and so far so good. No pop ups today.

Okay, so there is as second one. What browser do you use?

Safari.

Based on what the log files say, you and I have very similar configurations. But, I think your Safari needs to be updated. I'll keep watching for this issue. But, as I advised the other poster, you can try clearing your cache and cookies.

Thanks, I'll run updates. FWIW, I haven't had the issue since the one time this morning.
