Subject: Scattergram data
So apparently, our school includes data back to 2012 on the scattergram! Yikes. Other mcps parents, you may want to check with your career counselor person at school to see how far back yours go.
I am just going yo assume that the recent admits are the ones with the highest data points I guess.

Yes, that's a given. The point was that maybe they added a new drop down feature this year but when the previous TO years' data were imported, that didn't register because it wasn't an option in the system then. This is just a guess, but I can't figure another reason why TO would register nothing. Some of the test scores were very unlikely to be admissions had they been reported. Of course, the data could also be older than what's on the bar graph.
It's not very transparent!
Our MCPS school Naviance shows TO applications for some schools. Including UMD. I’m assuming it’s 2023 only based on limited number of applicants.
Interesting. Ours shows nothing with TO selected for umd. I guess it correlates more directly to individual school management than I thought.
They may still be loading data. I feel like there’s still a lot missing for our school.

I looked at just last year's acceptances and then I backed out a few more years.
I feel so much has changed historical data is pretty much irrelevant. You just want the last 2-3 years MAX.
Our school uses SCOIR and I am not sure scattergram is useful. I had read somewhere that it is self reported as I looked at some popular schools and tbe numbers of kids enrolling doesn’t line up. Also doesn’t include the kids who were TO which is a lot so a bit frustrating. Finally our school doesn’t have weighting so you can’t tell kids who took a hard schedule vs easy and this means a lot.

It shows the bar graphs by year, and those go back to 2018, but if you add all those acceptances (for highly selective schools) up, there are far fewer than what I see on the scatterplot. Conversely, there are far more rejections on the bar graph than on the scatterplot. I am wondering if they included some older acceptances and to kind of fill out the plot and pared rejections to keep it legible? It just doesn't add up. And, I know that pre '21 data isn't very helpful, but pre '17 data is really useless!
The bar graph only shows acceptances and non-acceptances, which isn’t necessarily rejection and often isn’t. You may see decision unknown on scatterplot - like if kid withdrew application after being accepted ED or EA or was waitlisted into summer (that’s a lot of kids) and hence high school doesn’t have that info of final outcome for that application.

Not for the two high schools I've seen Naviance for. It's possible that there's some Naviance package out there that includes this option, but I'd think you'd be able to tell just by looking at the scattergram page if there were some option to see that information.
