Subject: How do you make single mom friends?
I don’t have the time (single mom). I rarely socialized while married. I have not felt any different.

It’s easy! Plenty of school moms and sports teams mom are single and it’s easy to connect. But, if you’re not outgoing you will have a hard time unless you’re interested in a single dad. They like the women who don’t run with the herd.

I think making parent friends are really difficult regardless what age your kid is at. Bond with parents with the same vibe as you. I've certainly made moms and dads friends and some playdates were misses too. I don't know if I would seek out single mothers/fathers for friends.
I'm a single mom - and have been since my child was born. The father isn't and hasn't ever been in the picture. Since my child is young - right now, I'm the only single-single parent at preschool/daycare and gazillion other activities. It can be very lonely and you can feel enormously judged. I think how I would befriend another single mom after 3 years of doing this - and I don't know if it would mesh and prioritize to create a friendship with another single mom because we're both single mothers. I'm not part of single mom groups because I've found the "vibe" really negative. My child and I are happy and safe - and I think in a much better position than if the father stayed. I've figured out how to balance this and I'm looking forward and positive about the present. I meet single parents mostly through dating or at work - but again their experiences are very different and we bond over the present and future. I would be concerned about getting to sucked into trauma bonding and the negative things if I met another single mom because we both happen to be single moms. I'm 40 - I have a friend and half that just became single mothers (fathers are still in the picture though) -- and again, we were friends way before their current situations and will be after. I teach them how to online date - I'm a little jealous of their 50-50 situation - but I also really appreciate that I don't have to deal with the exdh baggage. For everything I process, I pay my therapist to listen to it.
