How would I get a prescription? Thought doctors won’t prescribe just to drop 10 lbs?
They shouldn’t. And your body has to get used to it over time, so you need to titration up to an effective dose, which takes a minimum of three months— one at each of the first three doses, which are considered sub therapeutic. I found the first two to be the opposite of helpful. Appetite suppression and constipation for 3 days and then I was ravenous for the next 4. Plus finding the low doses is impossible right now. And starting at a high dose carries serious risks of nausea, vomiting, pancreatitis, gall stones.. No MD who knows what they are doing would start you at a therapeutic level.
I’m 49 and even at a subtheraputic level, I was losing 8-10 lbs a month by doing 1200 calories a day, 40% protein, 100 oz of water, 120 minutes of strength training a week and three 45 minute cardio sessions. It’s a lot of salmon, chicken, low fat Greek yogurt, green veggies and protein drinks. Very boring and a commitment to find a way to eat grilled chicken or fish when you eat out. But it worked. That said, ai couldn’t have kept it going if the third month of Wegovy hadn’t finally helped with appetite suppression.
