OP here---thank you to the people that answered my questions. For those that are wondering what MS school my kid attends, he doesn't. He's at RICA. They offer standard geometry for their HS. There are not enough kids in the HS for an honors level geometry class which is why I was wondering if the teacher could differentiate within the existing class.

This is a MS kid. I’m guessing not all middle schools offer honors geometry since that is normally taken in 9th or 10th grade, not 8th.

That's why middle schools don't offer non-Honors Geometry. If they can't handle the additional material, they don't skip ahead to higher level classes. This avoids kids getting stuck in 11th grade or 12th grade with no math class they are capable of taking.

What is your kid's course number and title in ParentVue, OP?

They are only a few extra topics in Honors geometry (and all Honors math classes), maybe 10% total.

Are you saying the middle school has a non-Honors geometry class?
That's not MCPS policy and there are zero students who qualify for that.
