Definitely not! She’s been with us for about 14 months now and in that time I’ve had 2 pay increases that were each 10%. We also give her a cash bonus for her birthday and Christmas. To each their own but nickel and diming the person taking care of our child all day isn’t something that I support.
I think you're a very extreme outlier if you've received two 10% pay increases in the last 14 months. Or are you just paying her minimum wage and you are a lower paid employee?
Your math isn't mathing given the economy.
Not every sector and person is harmed in the current economy- we pay our nanny well above average and provide a full package. I answered the question and it’s in line with what our neighborhood also compensates their caregivers. There’s no reason to snark or be jealous of varying household economics. We are fortunate and rather than blow our increases on vacations or non requisite items we compensate our nanny for all the work she does. To each their own.

That’s your problem (not using her enough). Why don’t you do some afternoon dates? If you like her, you’ll lose her with no raises.
