This is pretty annoying. I am new to APS and had no idea that it was no kids, and we still don't know the time. My husband has a work event so I'll need to scramble for childcare for a vague time now. 😒

If you were new to the school (1st grade), how important is this info?

Our school hasn't announced the time yet and unless you were in APS previously, you probably wouldn't know it's not ideal to bring your kiddos. We came from another district and their back to school nights involved the kids (important info they sent to parents). The couple years they tried it without kids, they provided childcare if needed in the gym with activities. It was a 30-45 minute ordeal. It worked out well. Not sure why APS is so ill equipped to have something similar.

Last year my kids school did not announce the time until after the school year had started. It made it hard to plan how to get my kids to/from activities they had that day.

I have to get a baby sitter every year. It’s a hassle.

This is it. There always a handful of kids. It's fine. Most people don't need to bring them and if you do, you do.

What I do find baffling is if both parents show up with kids. Send one parent. Nothing is that earth shattering.

They don’t go. I hired a sitter or skipped it. Now that my kids are older and can stay home alone, I realize it’s useless so I stopped going. It was nice when it was virtual but I don’t want to deal with parking and going into a crowded school after work to hear a generic presentation that I can read online. It’s not a time for you to talk one on one to the teacher anyway.
