Lila. The H at the end is an unnecessary letter.

Yes, spell it as Lilah. Layla or Laila will be pronounced Lay-La.

I also have a 1 year old, so don't know a ton of other kids/babies. Oh well, I like the name, so we'll still consider it even though it's so popular. I'm Indian and it is a unique name among Indians.

I’m middle eastern and we have Laila and Leila (pronounced Lay-la). I don’t think the spelling really matters because I have a very simple name that is obvious to pronounce and people still butcher it.

I keep reading Lyla as “Lie-uh” for some reason. I think the second L gets lost behind the Y

Lyla
Lilah
Laila

I like Laila the best but it could be mispronouced as "lay-lah."

Lilah or Lila or Leela. - Hindu name.

Laila or Lay-lah - Muslim name. The heroine of a classic tale of legendry doomed lovers - Laila-Majnu

Lyla? Lie-lah? Origin? I believe it is cultural misappropriation as always.

As the mom of a Lyla I will say that her name always gets butchered to Layla. I wish we had just gone with the Lila spelling.

My Lila is almost always pronounced LEELA by anyone who does not have English as a first language, and by automated messaging systems.

I dont like Lyla, because it looks too much like Lyle to me. Idk, I dont like the name Lyle lol.

I would 100% pronounce Laila as Lay-la.

So out of yours I like Lilah.

Laila is an entirely different name. It is pronounced LAY luh. Naming your kid Laila and wanting them to pronounce it LIE luh is like naming them Katie and wanting them to pronounce it Kathy.

I like Lila and Lyla

I think that adding h's to names that don't have Hebrew origins is pretentious and weird.

Lilah.

People would not be mispronouncing Laila if they said Lay-lah, they'd be pronouncing it correctly. That's like saying you want to call your kid Susan but you're worried your preferred spelling of Sarah would be pronounced "sah-rah" instead of "soo-sen". No kidding.
