I like Sharyn McCrumb books. They are series of mystery and legends set in the Appalachian Mountains called the Ballad Novels.

The Unquiet Grave
She Walks These Hills
The Rosewood Casket
The Ballad of Frankie Silver
If Ever I Return, Pretty Peggy-O

Jane Harper, Australian author. Great mystery writer, engaging characters and storylines. Start with "The Dry".

I liked The Lost Man, but The Dry, less so.

I love Louise Penny mysteries. They are set in Quebec and very atmospheric.

I just discovered Vaseem Khan. He has two mystery series set in India . . . the one I'm reading is definitely well-written with a complex plot.

Magpie Murders by A. Horowitz.
Louise Penny’s series of books with Chief Inspector Armand Gamache.

I second Elizabeth George - Inspector Lynley series - and Robert Galbraith's (J.K. Rowling) Cormoran Strike series.

Do you like historical mysteries? I loved the Matthew Shardlake series by C.J. Sansom. It's set in Tudor England - heavier on the time period and less on the mystery.

Anything by Tana French. She's more police mystery but SO GOOD AND SO NICE AND LONG.
