The roads up in Ventura county that traverse the San Padres got really washed out. Many of them are closed long term now.

We had very heavy rain in LA non stop for a good few hours and a friend in Santa Monica saw some flooding. That really was it though.

Thanks for the update. I am on the east coast but grew up in San Bernardino county. I wondered what the difference was between what the media is reporting vs. what the reality is for you all out there.
All the photos the national media has shown of storm damage seem to be around Palm Springs, so I am assuming that is the only place in southern California that got any damage.


The difference is shocking. It was a regular rainy day. I am outside of LA. The Inland Empire, desert & mountain areas were hit hard. The coastal areas and valley’s were fine. No wind, no flooding in my neck of the woods despite family from all over the country calling to check on us! I even saw alerts on social media to seek shelter, and I looked out my window and saw a steady regular rain.

Earthquake was Ojai
We got about 5 inches of rain by 9pm last night. Today it's quiet, a little drizzle, that's all. I think some of LA is under water - just not where I am.
